Once they had started performing, no one paid much attention to them, they mainly played at bars, during beer breaks, if ever. During that time, people were mostly into jazz, so they certainly didn't pay much attention to unknown group from Liverpool, playing skiffle-type music. If you're wondering what skiffle music is, it's kind of like a variation among folk, country, blues and jazz.

In the group, John Lennon was cosidered the leader. He had a way of taking all of his favorite artists and turning their music into something completely unique. By the time he'd started art college, "The Quarry Men" got more popular. Not long after, everyone wanted to here them played on the Merseyside. They were constantly booked.

I relate to him, when it comes to liking different music then the norm. I for one, love Kpop (Korean pop) and African music, and I probably only know 6 other people that listen to it, but hey, I like what I like and I won't stop listening to it because it isn't considered normal. Another thing that I have in common with John Lennon is that I hate being like everybody else. I always have to have that one thing that separates me from everybody else. Whether it be clothes,hair,language (Korean XD) just something unique.

John Lennon was part of a group known as "The Quarry Men" who would later become "The Beatles". He's a pretty interesting person. I can't wait to learn more about him.
